How long is the waiting list at Allen Terrace?
The length of time spent on the waiting list fluctuates and cannot be precisely predicted. The wait time will depend on many factors including the availability of apartments and the applicant's preference category.  The Northville Housing Commission has the following preference categories:
  • City of Northville residents
  • Former City of Northville residents
  • Parents and grandparents of City of Northville residents
  • City of Northville employees, former City employees, and parents and grandparents of city employees
  • Northville Township residents, including their parents and grandparents
  • All other applicants

Can an application be completed even if the applicant is not interested in moving now?
Yes. Vacancies are filled utilizing the waiting list, so an application must be on file for the applicant to be considered for a vacancy. The Northville Housing Commission currently offers a "will call" status, which allows applicants to place their name on the waiting list but not be notified of vacancies until such time as the applicant is interested in moving. The applicant must alert the Housing Commission if/when they want the "will call" status to be removed, thus allowing the Housing Commission to notify them of a vacancy.
