Parking Notices
Overnight Parking Restrictions

Overnight parking on the city streets or in any city parking lot is prohibited between the hours of 3 a.m. - 5 a.m.  In accordance with state law, notice is posted at the entrances to the city. The ordinance provides for issuance of permits to park on the street or lot. View the parking permit application below. An annual or seasonal parking permit may be issued in the event of a demonstrated hardship.

Request for permission to park without a permit
If you need to park overnight, including the hours of 3 a.m. to 5 a.m., due to driveway repair, out-of-town guests, etc., make the request on the Police Department's online parking portal.

Please note that these requests are for occasional use only; if you plan to park overnight on the street regularly, you’ll need an overnight parking permit.

The parking portal can also be used for vacation watches on your home in the city of Northville while you’re away on vacation or traveling for an extended period of time.

Parking violations may be paid by any one of the following methods:

  1. In person at the Cashier’s Office, during regular business hours.
  2. By mail.
  3. Online. View link here.
  4. Through the 24-hour drop slot located in the front lobby.
In order to check on the status of a pending violation, you will need to call the Cashier’s office during regular business hours. Please be able to provide either the ticket number or the license plate of the vehicle that received the ticket. The new online payment system began in Aug. 2024, citations that have a city logo on them can be paid in this manner. Older tickets (without city logo) will need to be paid by mail or at the Cashier's Office or left in the drop box.
