Stay connected with us
The City has social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter. We invite you to view our presence on these sites and “like” and “follow” us. We welcome your comments to our posts.

Information posted on these accounts include:

• articles from the weekly online City News
• recap of City Council meetings
• street closures
• notification of tax bills being mailed or e-mailed
• voting procedures during election season.

While the Northville Police Department’s Nixel handles emergency alerts, we may also post alerts when we want to reach more people. We also post crime prevention tips.

Watch these social media sites for news about people appointed to boards and commissions and the need for new volunteers, as well as important decisions regarding these advisory groups that help set policy. We post notices of meetings when possible.

We provide construction updates on roads, infrastructure and on commercial properties that impact the community.

We help connect you to the community through posts about nonprofit events, collaborative events, community-focused programs and events, and unique happenings. We often share posts of community organizations and provide links to articles of interest.

Portraying Northville's distinctive qualities is also important, including its history, walkability, parks, people and more. Seasonally, we cover the Independence Day parade, the annual Heritage Festival, skeletons in October, Veterans Day, the Holiday Lighted Parade before Thanksgiving, and other events and celebrations.

Another highlight is showing activities that help keep Northville healthy, engaged and connected as a community (e.g. biking, jogging, kids playing in the park, walking the streets, listening to or creating music, volunteering, and more). Post comments on the City's social media sites to share your experiences of living in Northville, working here or visiting from near or far.
